Our girl has epilepsy and requires a pill twice a day. Morgan's background is why I initially called her for a meet and greet knowing that she would be capable of giving a pill. Seeing her interact with my cats is why she'll be the only pet sitter we'll ever use. Our boy is very shy and she immediately picked up on this and adjusted her body language so he would feel comfortable coming up to her. I loved that she sent pictures and updates while we were gone. Our cats were so happy and relaxed when we got back from our trip we know they received excellent care while we were away. We are so lucky to have her in our community. Had this gone the other way there would have been a greater number that would have been disappointed.

You stated "You have not represented your constituents who elected you".
How can that be? You know that there are seldom serious issues that come before a vote that are even 75% supported, much less 100%. I'm sorry that you and I don't share the same opinion on this, but you are incorrect if you actually think most people share your views on the matter.

Your statement "Citizens have let you know in several different ways (emails and surveys) that they do not want Wildomar to be a cannabis center." is either a gross oversimplification or an intentional mischaracterization of the facts.

It was very easy to ascertain that small number of people participated in an organized attempt to exaggerate the actual numbers of those in opposition.

"You have gone your own way in voting, disregarding the citizenry."
This is another gross mischaracterization that is nothing more than attempting to impute your wishes onto the reality that you choose not to accept. Times have changed, and only a vocal and shrinking minority still shares the outdated views that you continue to promulgate.

"You will not win the support of the community, nor have you brought harmony and good will."
I have already won the support of the community. I never once thought that I'd garner 100% support, or even more than the 57% that voted for me in the first place.

This was a divided issue and any "harmony" or "good will" will either come in the wake of the decision or not. I'm eager to work in that direction... are you?

Most people I know are ready to move forward and put the bickering behind them. Sadly, there are many people that refuse to accept reality and they'd rather kvetch about something long after it's decided.

That was true with the far right when Obama was elected, and true again from the far left when Trump was elected. Some people would rather be angry and hateful because a political vote didn't go their way. I'm old enough to have figured out that it's a waste of precious time to try and talk such people off their chosen ledge of irrationality. Unfortunately doing the right thing is often not enough motivation for people. A quick clarification if necessary... any reward would be paid from the fine collected.

Second point, I agree with your idea about a pay reduction from city employees. Originally I was prepared to suggest such a thing and start with my own monthly stipend (whether it be 5% or 10%). Then in pre-meeting discussions with staff, and the thought that we should wait until August to see if the cuts will actually be necessary or not, I tabled the idea assuming it would pass.

I was caught somewhat flatfooted that staff's suggestion of 'waiting to make the cuts until August' was rejected. The budget is an issue that is always coming back to city council. If our projected revenues are still headed in the wrong direction, I'll be ready to make such a suggestion at the next quarterly budget review.Joseph Morabitohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16685853728078949253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-877753385801022805.post-65216924051337426552020-06-26T12:29:22.494-07:002020-06-26T12:29:22.494-07:00In response to Council member Karen. That is like the participation throphies, which I also disagree with. A question, while people are getting laid off and losing their jobs why is it that no one gets a tiny pay reduction from our city employees? I think it inequitable that everyone but government has to give a little. It is ri...I am way late on this and am very upset. It is ridiculous to think that we can lower the extremely high housing prices by building zillions of housing projects in a generally rural and peaceful land. Prices in California are high because of high taxes, high demand for our climate and topography and high prices of surrounding homes. The last think I want to is to lose our rustic beauty to miles and miles of track homes and buildings. This not only disturbs my visual and emotional peace, it ruins our natural landscape and wildlife that will be extinct if we do not stop building! With open borders, free school, housing and benefits to non citizens and sanctuary for criminals, how can we lower demand and housing prices? We simply cannot build enough to overcome the population demand upon our county!!! and city. This is a sham way to bring in voters that will keep the politicians in office up in Sacramento. Open borders, crowd out the rural residents, and give stipends so the new residents can afford the high cost! All for votes using our tax money! California has a supermajority Democrat ruled government and their goal is to make every area and city under their control. This new housing does not help the street people and wandering men that roam our streets either looking for drugs or perhaps needing mental help. These homes are for new families to move in and cause less help to come for those who need it the most. The real homeless who need far more help and cannot be simply stuck in an apartment. God help us!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02052993944364820648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-877753385801022805.post-56324489383815779932020-03-07T11:14:06.072-08:002020-03-07T11:14:06.072-08:00I asked the city manager about this and I was told...I asked the city manager about this and I was told that those that live (or does business) on one of the affected roads were sent letters advising them to file a claim with the city to be compensated for any expenses related to the name change. A neighbor of mine asked me today who has to pay for all the personal residential and commercial address name changes? I am sure all of this was addressed at a council meeting at some time or another, I must have missed it. This could cost individuals a lot of money, with little to no notice. As a resident, we have address labels, some business cards or personal cards with our address information on them, checks (I know some people no longer usep them but I still do on occasion, business envelopes and letterheads, number of costly items come to mind.
