Mayor Ben Benoit addressing the concerns of the citizens, getting input from Chief Dan Anne and City Manager Gary Nordquist. |
Everyone had a chance to ask a question, or three, and each answer was pretty complete. When I had a chance to ask a question, I thanked the Mayor for hosting such a forum, and was appreciative of the answers to all the important topics. Looking forward to the next one. ☺

Did they address the homeless issue?
ReplyDeleteLike mentioned below, it was addressed, but not solved. There really isn't any solution on a city level. Any real solution would come with a ton of controversy and cost a lot of money, and be on a state level.
DeleteThe issue was addressed, but not solved, other than to say voting for the 1 cent sales tax increase would help. This right after they tell you not to enable the homeless by giving them money.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how much would be enough? I know we have to pay something, but I see it more as a county or state issue, and that means that they should be funding it. In the end, the moneys would still be coming out of our pockets, but there would be more of a chance for a uniform solution. The rule of unintended consequences suggests that if such programs are done wrong, they can end up attracting more to the area.
