• Is Vandalism Ever Okay?

Like any other early morning, I started it off by seeing what the hot topic on Facebook happened to be.

After three more yelling lady/white cat memes I came upon a new thread that was about vandalism in Marna O'Brien park by Kalie Sauceda.
Are you okay with vagrants burning books in our parks... for any reason?
Someone had emptied the little free library, brought the books to pagoda 2, and lit them on fire.
No concern for others, just themselves and their immediate wants.
One person commented that, "No one should be mad about this. Simply a human trying to get warm! Sad"
My response to what I consider, reckless compassion.
It doesn't matter if this was the work of a punk kid, or a vagrant that has thumbed their nose at the assistance of SWAG (Social Work Action Group) that has been reaching out to our "homeless" for about two years now.
Not burned, but still trash since it was wet and sooty.
At this point, anyone that is sleeping outside in Wildomar, is there because they absolutely refuse to follow even the most basic of societal rules. They want your cake, and to eat it too.

There is good news though
I went over to the park with a broom and dustpan to clean it up, but the parks clean up crew was already there. I asked if they'd already seen the burned books, and they went over straight away to check it out and take care of it.
This mess didn't last long.
During the short time that I was away from the computer, the community rallied on Facebook and dozens pledged to bring books for the Little Free Library, and some had already been delivered.
The restocking has begun.
Kalie, thank you for your community spirit and taking action.

Here's that yelling lady/white cat meme I was talking about earlier.
This cat never loses an argument.

Wildomar Rap is akin to squeeze free kiss and wouldn't dream of ruining your apple pie with a wedge of gruyere.
