• Wildomar Flooding on Video

Just a quick blog about today's flooding. If you were in town, you felt this storm. Plenty of thunder and lightning. Windsong Valley lost power, and the lights were out at a couple of intersections.

Please take a look at the video to see how high the water got..

The fad has just begun.

  1. Thank you Joseph for braving the elements and bringing us a most excellent video. This should give Gary Andre a leg up in the election being as he has harped long and loud about the lack of a proper drainage infrastructure in Wildomar. The damage at the high school would have been far worse and the freeway may have been seriously compromised had a Walmart already been in place. Long live the developer.

    1. Where is the proof that the addition of a wal mart would have made the flooding worse? The freeway compromised? Andre has harped about many things. Plus if you spoke with city staff you would know they understand more about infrastructure than Andre, you, Martha, and the odd couple in hemet all put together.

    2. Too bad the rest of Gary's Platform is to bankrupt the city. I don't understand 'one issue' voters. Your contentions about Walmart are interesting... but I need more than a concerned citizen's opinions on the matter.

    3. From the videos here and pictures I saw on Facebook it seems to me that most of the flooding was in area that were undeveloped, as in areas that had many empty lots and no curbs and gutters.

Look at the area near Elsinore HS and you will see TWO empty lots just to the east, one on each side of Orange St. The lot that butts up to the school has been known to aid in the flooding of the school in the past. I also don't think that the strip mall with the Subway shop going in next to Jack in the Box will hurt that area only help in drainage.

Look at the intersection of Palomar & Central and the TWO lots that are undeveloped. Once again no curs or gutters so where does all that water go? Same thing at Palomar & Frederick or the along Orange, heading south from Bundy.

Or maybe it was the amount of rain we got in just over two hours would have flooded most areas???

  2. Let us give credit to those that braved the wild waters of Wildomar on Sept 16th 2014. The hipster was right about Heritage Regency it flooded in less than an hour. Truth be told so did the rest of the city but it also dried up and was gone today. So Gary Adee who can barely pull his pants up without forgetting why he was doing has no leg up on anything. Timex is busy trying to figure out who to sue after all this water went in her yard. She is currently using her flip phone to call the jolly fat man in De Luz. Then we have shaky and agent orange, during the thunder AO dove under the bed like he did in nam and the shakemeister of planning is current trying to dial the phone to call 911 but her fingers keep hitting the wrong numbers. Alls well in Wildotucky today!

  3. Heritage Regency performed exactly as it should have, the water came and went, it is a flood channel. Palomar is getting fixed thanks to the hard work of those at the city.

    1. You got that all wrong. First off the Ortega Trails Park District accepted this property as a Quimby Act land donation for a park. The County of Riverside spent 100's of thousands in additional Quimby Fees and Bond money (for which the taxpayers are on the hook until 2044) refurbushing a park which the City of Wildomar accepted as such in 2009. You are correct the water came but it didn't all go the Tot-Lot has become a bog. The Riverside County Flood Control District's channels all end at the south side of the park with only an easement for drainage going north thru the park on its way to the Lake at Elsinore. Kind of funny how the city recently changed the zone of the parcel on the northside from R-R to R-4, this parcel creates the retention basin inside the dog park fence with its non- maintained easement.
